THE ESSENTIALS
Before you start
- Separate observations from diagnosis.
- Distinguish assistance from repair work.
- Ask about parts and labour.
Describe observations without guessing the cause
Fictional example: Miguel finishes work and his car will not start in the car park. He can describe the location and what happened, but does not know whether the battery or another component is responsible. When preparing his assistance questions, he separates observations from theories. He does not buy a part to test the insurance or describe a guess as a technical diagnosis. If people or traffic are at risk, immediate safety takes priority over checking an insurance question.
Separate initial assistance from workshop work
Lusitania describes roadside help and towing. This does not confirm payment for parts or mechanical repairs. For your quotation, ask separately about help at the scene, transport and workshop work. Clarify the relevant contact and procedure before authorising expenses.

Ask about the procedure before arranging work yourself
Prepare a short list: whom to contact, which vehicle details are required, how to describe the location and whether approval is needed. Ask if you may engage a provider directly and under what conditions an expense would be considered. An invoice alone does not prove acceptance. Keep the support reference and instructions received. This article does not advise delaying a safety measure, nor does it guarantee reimbursement for a service arranged without following the applicable procedure. The actual circumstances still require assessment.
Compare assistance against your actual routine
Want to review the assistance in your quotation? Read the motor insurance guide below and request an assessment from RMACHADO GROUP. Explain your normal vehicle use and questions about territory, passenger transport and service limits.
