THE ESSENTIALS
Before you start
- Identify the specific component.
- Separate glass, mirrors and equipment.
- Check origin, limits and repair procedures.
The component list matters
The MAPFRE wording reviewed includes sunroof or panoramic roof glass within its isolated glass breakage section, subject to its terms, while mirrors appear among that section's exclusions. It also deals separately with certain equipment not fitted as original equipment. This is a contractual example, not a rule for every motor insurance policy.

Describe the question without deciding cover
Fictional example: André compares insurance for a car with a panoramic roof. He lists the components he wants clarified and distinguishes original equipment from later changes he knows about. He asks which policy provision applies to each item. In another situation, a mirror is damaged: André describes the component and the event without declaring it an insured glass claim. Classification should follow the policy wording and assessment of the facts, rather than the label he initially used in a message.
Ask about the complete repair
Beyond the component itself, ask about the limit, any excess and the procedure for choosing a repairer. If a quotation includes additional parts or work, request separate descriptions and clarification of their treatment. Do not assume everything is included merely because it appears on the same invoice. Keep photographs and vehicle information within the case's designated channel, following the instructions received. An answer for another model or another contract does not replace confirmation for your own car. Keep the actual quotation with the explanation for later comparison.
Compare before you need the benefit
Read the motor insurance guide and ask RMACHADO GROUP to review glass protection against the vehicle's equipment. A precisely described question makes it easier to request a useful, documented answer.
