THE ESSENTIALS
Before you start
- Ask separately about assistance and a replacement vehicle.
- Specify whether you are asking about breakdown or accident.
- Confirm your proposal's procedure and limits.
One name does not describe every situation
Lusitania's official Motor Insurance page lists assistance, replacement vehicles and breakdown or accident options separately. This product example shows why the particular option matters.
Do not turn that presentation into a promise about your policy. Ask what your actual proposal provides and for which situations.
Ask two questions before comparing
Towing deals with transporting the immobilised vehicle to the destination provided for. A replacement vehicle serves a different need: mobility for a defined period. Arranging the first service does not by itself determine the duration or category of the second.
First: 'How does assistance work if the car is immobilised?' Second: 'In that situation, what is provided regarding a replacement vehicle?' Record the answers on separate lines.
Also specify the scenario you want clarified. A discussion about an accident does not necessarily answer your question about a breakdown. If the explanation is vague, ask for it to be related to the policy.
An example without promises of service
Fictional example: Rui needs a car for a journey the following day. Inês helps him list questions about contact, arranging the service, availability, duration and conditions. They do not conclude that assistance alone entitles him to a car.
The list is for seeking clarification in advance. It is not an instruction to incur costs and expect them to be reimbursed later.
Record limits and procedure on the same page
Ask when the service starts, how long it may operate, which usage rules apply and which contact to use. Also ask what confirmation you should obtain before arranging an alternative.
Keep the reply and the document it concerns. When comparing proposals, use exactly the same scenario in your questions about each one.
For illustration, Lusitania’s Motor page consulted on 18 October 2026 describes a five-day annual limit and three occurrences under its breakdown assistance extension, following towing arranged by its assistance service. This shows why the option and procedure in your own policy matter; it is not a promise of service under every policy.
Prepare your comparison on the website
Visit Motor Insurance on rmachado.group and use the website request to explain what you want considered. A concrete question is more useful than simply asking for 'insurance with assistance'.
Do not post a registration number, policy or incident details in comments. A quotation does not confirm cover, assistance or provision of a vehicle; terms and the effective start need clarification.
KEEP THESE QUESTIONS
Your checklist for the next conversation
- Separate assistance from subsequent mobility.
- Identify the scenario: breakdown or accident.
- Ask about duration and usage conditions.
- Confirm the contact and required steps.
- Keep the reply and policy reference.
- Compare proposals using the same scenario.

Let us discuss your situation
Tell us what you want to protect. We review your request and help compare relevant terms. Requesting a quotation does not activate insurance.
