THE ESSENTIALS
Before you start
- Report observed facts.
- Separate suspected and established causes.
- Identify the relevant policy wording.
The labels are not interchangeable
MAPFRE's condominium presentation distinguishes storms, flooding, pipe rupture and rain, snow or hail, with their own conditions. Its structure illustrates that damage involving water is not automatically one undifferentiated benefit. The particular circumstances need to be compared with the policy actually purchased.

Write down what is known and unknown
Fictional example: marks appear on the top floor of a building after rain. The administrator records the affected room, approximate discovery time and photographs obtained safely. One resident suspects the roof; another mentions a pipe. Both remain recorded as possibilities until an appropriate assessment takes place. The report is not changed to fit a coverage label. A professional examining the premises should be able to distinguish observed damage from explanations suggested by other people who may not have inspected its origin.
Organise action and documents
If there is danger, prioritise safety and contact the appropriate services. For the administration, request instructions on reporting the incident and what information is needed for assessment. Record measures taken, contacts and expenses, retaining documents and photographs without accessing dangerous areas. Where several apartments are affected, separate the damaged items and locations. A residents' chat may help communicate an alert, but it does not replace submitting and following a report through the specified channel. Keep the case reference and instructions so that subsequent administrators can follow the record.
Review the building's protection
Read the home multirisk guide and ask RMACHADO GROUP for help understanding the condominium's cover. An accurate account supports clarification of the case without anticipating the insurer's decision or treating an unverified explanation as evidence.
KEEP THESE QUESTIONS
Your checklist for the next conversation
