THE ESSENTIALS
Before you start
- Keep readings and bills.
- Separate four expense types.
- Request a cause report.
Do not turn an indication into cover
Generali Tranquilidade’s FAQs distinguish investigation prompted by excessive consumption from the existence of insured damage. This is a contractual example. A water bill does not, by itself, demonstrate that every related cost will be reimbursed under the building’s insurance arrangements.

Record four amounts without combining them
Fictional example: an administrator receives an unusual bill, arranges an investigation and discovers a leak. They separate billed consumption, detection costs, pipe repairs and restoration of the affected ceiling. Meter readings and the technical report explain each item. This makes it possible to ask how each expense is treated instead of presenting an unexplained total.
Prepare separate requests where needed
Ask the insurer about the expenses and the water supplier about its billing process. One organisation’s answer does not replace the other’s. Read RMACHADO GROUP’s home multirisk guide to review building protection using these specific situations and the records available, keeping supplier billing adjustments separate from any insurance decision or payment.
