THE ESSENTIALS
Before you start
- Read the condition attached to each amount.
- Separate base and additional benefits.
- Compare equivalent situations.
Additional changes the meaning
The Allianz Vida Segura page distinguishes the death benefit from additional amounts for death by accident or a road traffic accident, subject to that product's terms. This example shows why the complete line matters, including the specified cause. It does not establish that every quotation or every death results in all the amounts being added together.

Compare two situations without inventing cover
Fictional example: Inês and Tiago are examining two quotations. They make separate rows for death due to illness and death due to an accident. They ask each provider to identify the amount, applicable conditions and document reference. If an option does not clearly address a situation, they leave it unresolved. They do not insert the advertisement's maximum figure by default. Their comparison begins to show the difference relevant to the family, rather than simply which number is largest.
Check whether payments can be combined
Ask explicitly whether an additional amount is paid alongside the base benefit, under what circumstances and to which beneficiary. Also ask for exclusions relevant to the situation used in the comparison. Organising this initial reading does not require publicly describing your family's health. Keep the table with each quotation's identity and the date of the answer. When a new option arrives, check the same rows again; products offered under a single brand can have different configurations and should retain separate references in your notes.
Request a comparison relevant to your family
Read the life insurance guide and ask RMACHADO GROUP to compare the actual quotations by situation. The purpose is to understand what each benefit means before making a decision.
