THE ESSENTIALS
Before you start
- Compare capital and premium separately.
- Use the same payment frequency.
- Identify changes in benefits.
Distinguish the situations
For Vida Domus, PRÉVOIR identifies actuarial age and insured capital as premium factors. This is information about that particular product.

Fictional example
Fictional example: Nuno sees the insured amount fall from 100,000 to 90,000 euros. That is a 10% reduction, but he does not conclude that the premium should also fall by 10%. He compares the two notices, the age used, benefits and charges. The exercise does not decide whether the price is correct; it identifies what needs explaining in the insurer's calculation.
Put the distinction to work
Request a comparison in euros using the same payment frequency. If benefits changed as well, separate that change from the capital adjustment. Any estimate for future years should be labelled as an estimate with its assumptions, rather than a guaranteed price. Through the life insurance guide, RMACHADO GROUP can help relate the protection you need to the documented development of the contract.
