GETTING STARTED

Three points to consider

  • Explain the need with a specific example.
  • State the relevant assets, people, activity and dates.
  • Receive guidance on the information needed for a quotation.

Start with what you want to protect

You may not know the technical name of the insurance you need. Describe the property, person or activity and explain a specific situation you want to provide for.

State the location, use and relevant dates. This helps distinguish protection for your own property, liability towards others and guarantees required by a contract.

If another organisation has set a requirement

A customer, finance provider or organiser may require particular covers or sums insured. Mention the requirement and prepare the document to send through the intermediary’s specified channel.

There is no need to insert documents, bank details or clinical information in the first request’s notes. The intermediary will indicate the information appropriate to the next stage.

How the assessment works

Choose “Other needs”, complete the initial details and explain the objective in the notes. Once reviewed and submitted, the request is registered with a reference.

RMACHADO GROUP may ask for clarification to assess the risk. The availability of an arrangement, its price and cover depend on assessment and acceptance terms.

A question to clarify before deciding

Do the geographical scope and optional covers address the need described?

The product examples mentioned in the frequently asked questions illustrate possible differences. They are not an offer from RMACHADO and do not show that a particular cover is included in your policy. Availability, acceptance and terms must be confirmed in the specific quotation.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know the insurance name?

No. A clear description of the need allows assessment to begin and an appropriate framework to be identified.

Can I mention a customer’s requirement?

Yes. Mention that the requirement exists and prepare the documents for the assessment stage specified by the intermediary.

Should the intended territory form part of the assessment?

Yes. Geographical scope is information to confirm before taking out insurance.

Are optional covers included just because they are mentioned?

Inclusion and scope must be confirmed in the quotation.

What should I look for beyond the covers?

Check obligations during the policy, exclusions, excesses and claim valuation criteria.

THE NEXT STEP

A review starts with your details.

Prepare the request, check the summary and submit it when correct. A record is created only after final submission; the request does not activate insurance.
