THE ESSENTIALS
Before you start
- Working at a customer’s premises is not an automatic exclusion.
- Compare actual tasks and people with the insured description.
- Communicate relevant changes and keep the response.
Head office is not the law’s only reference point
For employees, Article 8 of Law 98/2009 includes a place reached because of work under the employer’s control. Article 9 includes services outside the usual place or working time when ordered or permitted by the employer. Working elsewhere requires assessment of the facts, rather than automatic exclusion.
This guide concerns an employed team working in Portugal. Remote work, self-employment and overseas assignments raise separate questions covered in other site guides.

Compare tasks and people as well as addresses
The uniform policy connects protection to the insured people and identified productive unit, regardless of the area in which they work. This does not automatically make a new task or an uninsured person an accepted risk.
When preparing the request, put routine work and work at the customer’s premises on separate lines. Compare roles, operations, places and intended dates. Check which people the chosen policy arrangement includes without assuming another company’s workers share the same policy.

Communicate a relevant change
Clause 10 of the uniform policy requires disclosure of circumstances that increase risk and could influence acceptance or terms. A different address alone is not the criterion: what actually changes in the work matters.
Henrique discovers that installation includes work at height missing from the description sent. Clara helps present it to the insurer before execution and request written guidance on its treatment and any changes needed. Customer urgency or the cost of postponing the team does not replace that assessment.

Keep a response for the plan you will carry out
As a preparation checklist, identify the team’s employer, actual tasks, location in Portugal and intended dates. Ask whether the current description is sufficient or what records and changes need attention. Keep the request and answer with the policy version; identify further changes if the work changes again.
You can request an occupational accident insurance quotation on the site. Keep medical information and personal documents out of public comments. This text does not authorise work, replace safety professionals or confirm a claim; the intermediary does not carry the insured risks.
KEEP THESE QUESTIONS
Your checklist for the next conversation
