THE ESSENTIALS
Before you start
- Separate airline and insurer enquiries.
- List bookings and expenses.
- Identify amounts already refunded.
Distinguish the situations
Your Europe explains refund or rerouting and assistance rights for covered cancellations. Additional compensation depends on the circumstances specified in the applicable passenger-rights rules.

Fictional example
Fictional example: Sara booked a flight, hotel and activity separately. Following cancellation, she asks the airline about the route and assistance. For the insurance enquiry, she identifies expenses still unresolved and amounts already returned. She does not seek payment of the same expense twice as though earlier refunds did not exist; she presents a transparent list of amounts and organisations involved.
Put the distinction to work
Before travelling, compare the policy's covered reasons, benefits, limits and procedures while considering airline rights separately. Retain the cancellation notice and the position of each booking. Through the travel insurance guide, RMACHADO GROUP can help distinguish these routes and formulate questions about particular losses, without guaranteeing that insurance absorbs every consequence of a cancelled flight or that a generic benefit name applies.
KEEP THESE QUESTIONS
