THE ESSENTIALS
Before you start
- Clinical results and the insurance decision are different questions.
- Ask for the appropriate channel and identify the test concerned.
- An explanation is not acceptance of insurance.
Information before the medical test
Article 178 requires advance information about tests, locations, costs and where results go. It allows requests for results and their effect on the decision, including refusal or special terms. Clinical communication is generally by a doctor, with stated exceptions. Do not assume who pays or receives the information.
Prepare two requests using common references
Our suggested record includes the quotation reference, test and date. Rui first requests results through the specified channel. Separately, he asks how they affected the answer received. He does not ask the bank counter to interpret a test or send the report to every recipient in an administrative conversation.
Clara suggests recording who answers each question and what remains missing. “I received a file” and “I understood the reason for the decision” are different stages. Rui takes clinical questions to the healthcare professional looking after him; this article neither interprets results nor replaces that consultation.
Separate the initial illustration from final terms
To organise the comparison, Rui keeps the initial illustration and later response separately, with their dates. If terms differ, he asks which documents should be compared and what changed, in language he understands. He does not infer an explanation from price alone.
The household budget includes mortgage repayments and insurance. That pressure makes clarification useful before deciding, but does not establish that another quotation will be accepted. Obtaining tests or explanations is not by itself evidence that cover has started.
Keep clinical information out of the initial contact
Ask who should receive health documents and by what means. An initial RMACHADO contact only needs to explain that you seek mortgage life insurance and have a question about tests or a decision. Do not include results, diagnoses or report photographs in the initial form, comments or social messages.
Keep the response with its quotation reference. If further clarification is needed, identify the precise missing point. A complaint or case assessment requires appropriate documents and procedures; this guide decides no acceptance and recommends no policy change.
KEEP THESE QUESTIONS
Your checklist for the next conversation
- Identify the quotation, test and date.
- Request results and their effect on the decision separately.
- Confirm the clinical-information channel and recipient.
- Keep responses with the relevant quotation versions.
FROM THE ARTICLE TO YOUR SITUATION
Let us discuss your situation
Tell us what you want to protect. We review your request and help compare relevant terms. Requesting a quotation does not activate insurance.
