GETTING STARTED
Three points to consider
- Identify the guaranteed obligation and beneficiary.
- Prepare the required amount, term and guarantee wording.
- Clarify calling conditions and policyholder obligations.
The specific obligation is the starting point
The request should identify who owes the obligation, who benefits from the guarantee and which contract or requirement gives rise to it. Gather the amount, term and requested wording.
Guarantees with different aims are not interchangeable. The intermediary needs to understand what is to be guaranteed before referring it for assessment.
Wording, calls on the guarantee and expiry
Read the conditions under which the beneficiary may call on the guarantee and the documents required. Confirm the start, expiry and release procedure.
Extensions, amendments to the underlying contract and reductions in amount may depend on acceptance. Cost, policyholder responsibilities and any counter-guarantees should be clarified in the quotation.
Issuance depends on risk assessment
The initial form opens the process; it does not represent an issued guarantee. The insurer may request information on the business, transaction and ability to perform the obligation.
If there is a deadline for providing the guarantee, state it at first contact and confirm feasibility before making a commitment.
A question to clarify before deciding
Do the obligation, beneficiary and requested terms match the guarantee to be assessed?
The product examples mentioned in the frequently asked questions illustrate possible differences. They are not an offer from RMACHADO and do not show that a particular cover is included in your policy. Availability, acceptance and terms must be confirmed in the specific quotation.
What to compare in a quotation
Use these questions to clarify differences that could affect your decision.
| Comparison point | Question to clarify |
|---|---|
| Obligation | Exactly which commitment is guaranteed? |
| Beneficiary | Does the wording meet the requirement presented? |
| Timing | How is the guarantee extended or released? |

THE NEXT STEP
A review starts with your details.
Prepare the request, check the summary and submit it when correct. A record is created only after final submission; the request does not activate insurance.
