THE ESSENTIALS
Before you start
- State location and period.
- Describe planned handling.
- Separate storage-site responsibilities.
Read the section dealing with risks ashore
The MAPFRE recreational boat terms checked distinguish damage afloat, launching or recovery operations and circumstances ashore. This is a product example. Actual cover depends on the benefits purchased and should not be inferred simply because liability insurance exists for the boat and its normal navigation.

Describe storage and who handles the boat
Fictional example: Nuno stores his boat for four months. He identifies the location, support arrangement and any planned crane handling or transport. He keeps the storage agreement and asks which responsibilities each party assumes. He does not treat the facility’s insurance as evidence that every possible loss to his own boat is covered.
Review the return to the water
Before the next season, identify equipment, location or use changes that need communicating. Keep storage terms, maintenance and the boat’s insurance distinct. Read RMACHADO GROUP’s boat guide to prepare an assessment reflecting the full annual cycle of use, rather than considering only the days when the vessel is actually being navigated.
