GETTING STARTED

Three points to consider

  • Prepare identification, characteristics and the craft’s value.
  • State the navigation area, use and mooring location.
  • Assess hull, liability, assistance and quotation limits.

Start with the craft and navigation

Gather identification, type, dimensions, engine details, year and value. State the navigation area, use and usual mooring or storage location.

Private outings, hire, professional use and racing may require different assessments. The quotation should reflect actual use, not just the craft’s name.

Hull, equipment and liability

Cover for damage to the craft differs from liability towards others. Identify engines, equipment and accessories to clarify what forms part of the sum insured.

Check navigation limits, excesses, assistance and excluded situations. Document requirements and applicable obligations should be checked for the particular craft.

Risk continues out of the water

Road transport, time in a boatyard and storage may have their own conditions. If the craft spends part of the year ashore, explain this routine. Ask for a review of terms before changing the navigation area or use.

A question to clarify before deciding

Which storage locations and conditions are covered ashore and during stays?

The product examples mentioned in the frequently asked questions illustrate possible differences. They are not an offer from RMACHADO and do not show that a particular cover is included in your policy. Availability, acceptance and terms must be confirmed in the specific quotation.

Frequently asked questions

Does liability cover damage to my boat?

They are different protections. Damage to your own craft should be assessed under hull cover or equivalent.

Can I change the navigation area during the policy?

Ask the intermediary for prior confirmation. The change may require acceptance and a policy update.

Does time ashore also need assessment?

Lusitania’s information includes damage ashore at suitable enclosed premises. Check the quotation’s storage conditions.

Does theft of belongings have the same conditions everywhere?

The example consulted links protection during stays to storage in an appropriate place with restricted access. Check the policy rule.

Do occupants have their own personal protection?

Personal accident benefits for occupants are available. Confirm inclusion and the benefits provided.

THE NEXT STEP

A review starts with your details.

Prepare the request, check the summary and submit it when correct. A record is created only after final submission; the request does not activate insurance.
