THE ESSENTIALS
Before you start
- Identify the actual activity and the requirement's origin.
- One sector's minimum limit does not automatically apply to others.
- Compare the certificate, contract and legal requirements.
A sector requirement has specific addressees
The official gov.pt guide refers compulsory professional insurance to each activity's rules. Article 7 of Law 15/2013 is a concrete example: Portuguese-established real-estate mediation businesses face a liability requirement with a EUR150,000 minimum and specific conditions, with equivalent instruments allowed as legally provided. That amount is not a generic minimum for every business.

Make a record for each activity or operation
As an organisational method, record the service provider, actual tasks, location and entity requesting proof. Add the legal or contractual reference supplied and the document deadline. Ask for a missing reference before simply choosing an insured sum.
Fictional example: a company provides real-estate mediation and a separate commercial operation. Its manager lists them separately and asks for each requirement to be identified. Insurance arranged for one activity is not presumed to regulate or protect the other automatically.
Compare the requirement with the quotation
Check the named insured, described activity, categories of damage, principal limit and other caps. Read territory, dates and exclusions too. A high figure on a certificate cannot replace checking the insurance's subject matter or establish that every requirement is satisfied.
Where a customer adds a contractual clause, separate the request from what the insurer has confirmed. A pending application must not be presented as an issued policy. Keep the requirement and response versions so that later changes remain visible.
Prepare a quotation without guessing the regime
Select RC Empresarial when contacting RMACHADO and describe the services and requirement received. The review may identify a professional or activity-specific solution. An application does not issue a certificate, grant a licence or establish compliance with every business obligation.
KEEP THESE QUESTIONS
Your checklist for the next conversation
- Identify activities and entities.
- Separate law, customer contracts and voluntary protection.
- Obtain the requirement's reference.
- Compare subject matter, limits and scope.
