THE ESSENTIALS
Before you start
- Check the event before comparing the capital.
- A benefit’s name does not establish illness cover.
- Assess accident guarantees and assistance separately.
An accident policy that expressly excludes illness
The Allianz Acidentes Pessoais product information document, version 963 of July 2019, lists illness as excluded while presenting daily hospitalisation benefit as an optional cover.
For that example, the hospitalisation heading does not erase the illness exclusion. Check the complete applicable wording and selected covers. This product document alone does not establish a rule for every personal accident package.

Why a combined product needs a benefit-by-benefit answer
The Fidelidade Viagem pre-contractual note, dated December 2025, describes a personal accident travel product with assistance. Its medical expenses benefit abroad refers to accident or sudden illness during the trip, with medical prescription and specific exclusions.
That travel benefit does not turn an accident guarantee into general health insurance. Neither does it establish payment for any illness, in any country or outside the insured trip. Identify the specific benefit and its own conditions.
Compare the same event, location and benefit
Fictional Bairro Seguro example: Rui Lobo finds “hospitalisation” in two documents. One benefit is tied to an accident; the other document describes medical assistance during a trip. Clara Mota helps him separate the benefits before comparing the highlighted amounts.
Create five columns: the triggering event, where cover applies, the covered period, what is provided and any relevant exclusions. Enter the answer from each benefit’s wording, rather than copying the product name into every column. Flag an unanswered point instead of assuming the broader interpretation.
Rui must also consider the family budget. A daily benefit and reimbursement of expenses serve different needs; if the event is excluded, the advertised sum does not resolve that difference. Clara suggests clarifying the risk he wants to protect first, then the price and the costs he can afford.
If the cause is still being clarified
For an event that has already happened, report the known facts and identify what remains uncertain. Keep the dates, policy reference and instructions received. The insurer’s assessment of the cause and applicable benefit is separate from a quotation for future protection.
Obtain medical help when needed. Use the policy’s support or assistance channel for the insurance process, and request the appropriate method for sending medical documents. A public comment or an observation field in a new quotation request is unsuitable for sharing clinical reports.
Turn the distinction into a useful quotation request
State what you want to compare: protection against accidents, medical costs arising from illness, assistance abroad or a daily hospital benefit. Those needs may require different benefits or products. Establish the scope first, then compare price, limits and your share of costs.
To compare personal accident protection with RMACHADO, choose Personal Accidents in “Request a quote”. If your main question concerns illness or a trip, explain that purpose so the assessment starts with the correct need. No individual claim outcome follows from these examples.
