Personal accident cover after 65: does remaining insured mean unconditional assistance?

A family seeks help following an accident and finds a policy designed for older people. Continuation without an age limit may matter, but it does not describe every benefit or service. Compare age rules, the defined accident and the support actually needed.

THE ESSENTIALS

Before you start

  • Entry and continuation are separate questions.
  • Remaining insured does not make assistance freely usable.
  • Compare the service, trigger and plan limits.

What one public over-65 offer shows

CGD presents an AP 65+ policy with three plans and no continuation age limit. It also says assistance requires prior contact and an accident causing injury covered by the specified benefit. This is a conditional product example, not evidence that every need for domestic support is included.

Use three lines for age questions

First record the proposal's entry age. Second, its continuation rule. Third, any limits applying to individual benefits. Do not fill the third line by copying a general advertisement: ask for the terms governing each benefit.

For an existing policy review, bring the current version and identify the next renewal date. Show what continues, what needs clarification and what is only proposed. A new quote does not replace the current contract.

Turn a service list into a practical routine

Fictional example: following an accident someone may need transport to appointments, meal preparation and shopping assistance. List those tasks and ask which are in the plan, who arranges them, under what circumstances and for how long. The word assistance does not explain the whole routine.

Distinguish an occurrence, an act, an hour of service and a monetary amount. Compare limits using the same unit and period. A longer table is not necessarily more suitable if it misses relevant tasks or uses different triggers.

Prepare contacts and a quote question

Keep the assistance contact available and tell a trusted person where to find it without exposing personal details publicly. Before independently booking services expecting reimbursement, ask for the applicable instructions. Emergency help and clinical guidance come first.

For a personal accident quote from RMACHADO, provide age and comparison needs without posting diagnoses in comments. Ask which support is documented for the scenario and how it works. This guide neither presumes age-based acceptance nor decides payment for an injury.

KEEP THESE QUESTIONS

Your checklist for the next conversation

  • Distinguish entry age and continuation.
  • Read limits applying to individual benefits.
  • Describe the support tasks you want to compare.
  • Check activation, units and assistance contact details.
