THE ESSENTIALS
Before you start
- Separate protection objectives.
- Distinguish care, liability and assistance.
- Check costs and conditions of use.
Start with the objective without public disclosure
Write situations requiring clarification in two columns: care for your own animal and damage caused to others. Add assistance services in a third column where relevant. This initial exercise does not require publishing documents or identifying details on social media.
Fictional example: Inês asks about veterinary consultations while Rui replies with a liability reference. They realise they are seeking answers for different objectives. They return to the quotation and locate the heading for each situation without assuming one cover replaces the other.
Compare functions rather than labels
Fidelidade’s Pets page distinguishes solutions for damage caused by the animal from plans with health components and describes assistance services. This illustrates that insurer’s offering; it does not mean every pet product includes all those elements.
Where a quotation mentions consultations, reimbursement, a network or assistance, ask what each expression means under that contract. Check limits, costs payable by the owner, conditions of use and exclusions. Availability of a service should not be confused with full payment for every intervention.

Take specific questions to the assessment
Use the same list of situations when comparing quotations. If a reply addresses liability alone, leave veterinary questions open rather than consider them resolved. Also ask which current information is needed to assess the animal and intended use.
For damage caused to others, prepare an Animal Liability request with RMACHADO GROUP. If your main aim is veterinary care, select Other insurance and state that aim in the notes without clinical details. Liability cover should not be presented as an answer to your own animal’s veterinary bills. Acceptance and terms require assessment.
KEEP THESE QUESTIONS
Your checklist for the next conversation
- Does my question concern my own animal or damage to someone else?
- Does the quotation include liability, veterinary care, assistance or only some of these?
- What network, reimbursement and cost per use are specified?
- Which limits or exclusions matter to the situation I described?
- Is each answer clearly linked to the relevant plan?

Let us discuss your situation
Tell us what you want to protect. We review your request and help compare relevant terms. Requesting a quotation does not activate insurance.
